The organization was established in 2021 by Founder/Executive Director Lemual Boyd-Wallace and Charles Boyd-Wallace, who have more than 20 years collectively of experience providing clinical core services, community partnerships, advocacy, and community engagement.
To end health and social service disparities in BIPOC communities, while empowering them to make informed health care decisions by providing education, prevention interventions, personal empowerment, access to equitable health care, affordable housing, linkage referrals and case management services that are client centered and guided and the promotion of public policies that make those services available to all in the Newark, New Jersey area by providing business, medical, educational and social services to people in need as well as provide opportunities for career building and training.

Health Education - Empowering communities to make informed health and social welfare decisions are vital to BIPOC communities. Boyd-Wallace House will provide individual and group health education sessions on HIV Prevention and Care, Pep/PreP Education and Navigation , Adherence and Retention benefits, Substance Use Disorder, Benefits Navigation, Health Pre-Screening benefits. and Mental Health.
Pantry/Soup Kitchen - Boyd-Wallace House will distribute meats, vegetables and other essential food items to Newark residents. Boyd-Wallace House will provide a Sunday dinner to Newark residents who need it. (2025)
Mobile Testing –Boyd-Wallace House will provide confidential HIV/STI Screenings and linkage to care in neighborhoods with the use of our mobile testing vans. While in the community outreach workers will provide information about our organization, safer sex kits and other incentives. (Summer 2024)
Re-engagement and Retention in Health Care – Boyd-Wallace House will collaborate with local health centers, hospitals and community based organizations to work to get clients currently not engaged in healthcare and re engage in health care while linking them to services that will eliminate barriers to care.
Social Service Linkages and Referrals – A primary goal at the Boyd-Wallace House is to link communities and individuals to the assistance and care they need. Boyd- Wallace House will assist individuals by linking them to the appropriate services needed.
Homeless Street Outreach - Boyd-Wallace House’s Outreach Team desire to meet people where they are at, build deep trust and connections, offer support, and reinforce the human dignity and respect that is deserving of all people. We provide socks, limited clothing items, hygiene supplies, and snacks.
